In terms of his insurance practice, Tobin works closely with domestic, American, and international insurer clients to evaluate risk, weigh options, and pursue the most strategic path forward—whether through trial, negotiated settlement, or alternative dispute resolution. He regularly works on several types of risk and loss in Canada, including, but not limited to, bodily injury, E&O, environmental losses and remedial claims, flood claims, fires losses, hospitality claims, marine losses, sports liability, construction defects, product liability, and trucking and cargo related claims.
In terms of his commercial practice, Tobin is regularly retained by corporations, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs to protect their interests in fast-moving and often high-pressure environments. His client-oriented approach ensures a result-driven mindset on every matter. He regularly deals with shareholder disputes, contractual breaches, construction disputes, employment disputes, or commercial torts.
Tobin earned his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2009 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2010. His growing national practice has led him to become a member of the Law Society of Alberta (2019) and the Law Society of Nunavut (2021).
Outside the office, Tobin enjoys time with his family, is an active member at the Cambridge Club and remains a loyal (and vocal) supporter of the Virginia Tech Hokies.
